**The guidelines below are universal across all Classifieds categories.**

Policy

Guidelines

  • Your item pictures MUST include a note with a timestamp with your username in the pictures.

  • Sell only to people local to CT. Out of state transfers can be complicated, especially when it comes to firearm regulation. Use GunBroker if you wish to buy/sell to out of state **(Applies to Gun/Ammo Classifieds category) **.

  • Avoid offers of payments in form of online transfers, money orders, checks, money apps, gift cards, etc. Use GunBroker if you wish to buy/sell with an online payment option.

  • It is strongly advised that you do not offer or accept shipping options for purchase/sale/trade of non-regulated items. Offering shipping increases likelihood of being scammed.

  • Meet your buyer/seller in person at a public and safe place if transaction does not involve regulated items such as firearms.

  • Current Connecticut law requires all private transfers of firearms to be done through an FFL, you are fully responsible for following that law.

  • When buying/selling/trading firearms, meet with your buyer/seller at a mutually agreed upon FFL.

  • IMPORTANT: Do NOT go to an FFL unannounced!! Please make sure the FFL is notified in advance and is okay with facilitating the transfer for you!

  • Do not send or post your personal information such as names, addresses, etc on the forum or PM to the potential buyer/seller to prevent identity theft. All documents such as pistol permits, ID, etc should be presented/inspected in person and only as required for the legal transfer process to take place. Keep the personal information exchange as tight as possible,

  • Use bills of sales! It’s a great way to get a receipt and have proof of transaction.

  • Use your best judgement, if the situation or individual seems sketchy, just walk away. You are solely responsible for any potential outcome of any transaction facilitated on this platform in which you are voluntarily involved in.

  • When the sale is final, as the Original poster of the classifieds, make sure you mark the item/post as SOLD.

  • The Buyer can optionally comment on the post with “Transaction Completed” , this will allow the Forum to potentially track successful transactions
