Just wondering how many members here can speak another language?

I had a car full of people pull into my driveway looking for my neighbor; they spoke no english only Spanish. I am in no way fluent is Spanish but I do speak Italian, I know enough Spanish to get me in trouble, I told him I was sorry I do not speak Spanish but the house he want is up two places, between Italian my limited Spanish the guy understood me and thanked me. These situations will become more obvious with the borders down.

Pig Latin? So, no one spoke a word of English in the vehicle? My question is how did they get their drivers license and how did they navigate the roads when all signs are in English? lol. Time to call I.C.E. lol

I tried to speak Spanish. Went through a year of that online training. I found it being way confusing seeing when I tried to talk Spanish to someone spanish speaking person they had a hard time understanding. I gave up.

All spanish is not equal. Such like Guatemalan is not Spanish and any other “spanish” speaking country don’t really speak Spanish - Spanish as in Spain

People find ways to communicate. To communicate is the first step to understanding each other. Good on you, man…

I manage a pharmacy, and almost half of the patients speak only Spanish, so I have had to use my high school and college Spanish to attempt to communicate. In the process, my spoken Spanish has noticeably improved. My wife speaks it fluently, as does her family, so hearing it from them helps as well.
