I’ve been away from the site for a while, mainly only checking in to see if anything broke. Life’s been getting in the way of me working on the Classifieds plugin, there’s still lots to learn on the technical side which might take some time to get up and running. June is looking like it will be more relaxed so im hoping to be back at it by then.
The plan is to split classifieds into two sections, those being Regulated and Unregulated.
In short Unregulated is the place to list anything that doesn’t have regulations around it, such as gun parts, accessories, etc. while Regulated will be for only guns and ammo.
Im planning on releasing the Unregulated category first and sooner than the Regulated one, at least to have a place to trade all your spare parts and trinkets while I work on the plugin for the other half.
Although I am a little clearer on the legality of the classifieds sections, there are more steps I will have to take to protect myself from any potential liability. Since unregulated parts are not, well, regulated, Im more comfortable with opening that up first as a test drive.
For those curious, the plugin im working on will track anyone who clicked the agree button on the Classifieds ToS which will in turn issue the user with appropriate permissions to unlock the category, if the ToS changes the access will be revoked until it is clicked again. Just another means to make it more explicit that the user has accepted the current ToS.
